Summary

The following article will walk you through the process of configuring an iOS 9.0+ device, such as an iPhone or iPad, to check your EarthLink email.

The easiest way to get your email on an iPhone or iPad is to install the new MyEarthLink iOS App.  You can find the app in the iOS store by searching for MyEarthlink.  More information on the app can be found out http://www.earthlink.net/mobileapp.

How to setup your email on an iOS 9.0+ device
1

If you want to setup the native email application on your iOS device, click the Settings button.

2

Scroll down and click on Mail, Contacts, Calendars.

3

Click the Add Account option.

4

Click on the Other option.

5

Select Add Mail Account.

6

Enter in your Name, Email address, Password and Description.  For description, you can use the default offering or change it to anything you like.  Then click Next.

7

iOS will now confirm your settings.  Click Save to continue.

Note:  Some domains may require you to enter in your email settings manually.  See the final section below titled “Manually entering your settings” for more details.

You should now see your email account entered under the Accounts section.   You can close out of the Settings menu.

Click the Mail App to begin using your email.

With some domains, you may be required to manually enter your settings.  This can happen with less common domain names.  You will know that you’ll need to manually enter in your information if you are taken to a New Account settings screen after submitting your email address and password.

Select the IMAP option at the top of the page and then double check your name, email address and password to be sure it is correct.

Under Incoming Mail Server enter the following:

Host Name:  imap.earthlink.net

Username:  (your full email address)

Password: (your email password)

2

Under Outgoing Mail Server

Host Name: smtpauth.earthlink.net

User Name: (your full email address)

Password: (your email password)\

Click the Next option at the top of the page.

3

Your iOS device will now verify your settings and return a prompt saying it cannot connect using SSL.  This is normal when setting up manually.  Select the Yes option.

Click Save and you are finished manually setting up your email on an iOS device.
