You will need the server settings for your e-mail address. Go to EarthLink Server Settings/ to get these settings.

Open Mail.

Click the Continue button.

Click the Account Type popup menu and select POP.

In the Account Description field, type your email address (e.g. johndoe@earthlink.net).

In the Full Name field, type your name.

In the Email Address field, type your email address (e.g. johndoe@earthlink.net).

Click the Continue button.

In the Incoming mail (POP3, IMAP or HTTP) server field, type your Incoming mail server (POP).

In the User Name field, type your email address (e.g. johndoe@earthlink.net).

In the Password field, type your account password.

Click the Continue button.

In the Outgoing Mail Server field, type smtpauth.earthlink.net.

Place a check in the box next to the left of Use Authentication.

In the User Name field, type your email address (e.g. johndoe@earthlink.net).

In the Password field, type your account password.

Click the Continue button.

Click the Continue button.

Click the Done button.

Open Mail.

From the Mail menu, choose Preferences.

Click the Accounts icon.

Click on Server Settings.

In the Outgoing Mail Server field, type smtpauth.earthlink.net.

In the Server port field, type 587.

Select Password in the Authentication drop down.

In the User Name field, type your earthlink email address (e.g. johndoe@earthlink.net).

In the Password field, type your email address password.

Click OK.

Close the Accounts window.

If prompted, click the Save button.
