Email Menu/Button

Click the More down arrow to see the following menu of email-related options and settings.

Open EarthLink TotalAccess MailBox

Click Open EarthLink TotalAccess MailBox to open the EarthLink TotalAccess MailBox. You can also click the Email menu button on your Task Panel to open MailBox.

Compose New Message

Writing a new email message with EarthLink TotalAccess MailBox is only one click away.

To compose and send a new message:

1. Click Compose New Message and a blank message window will open.
2. Type the recipient's email address in the To field. When you want to send the same email message to multiple people, enter each recipient's email address, separated by commas, in the To field.
3. Type a title in the Subject field.
4. Type your message in the empty text box below the subject line. When you are done with your message, click the Send button. The email is automatically sent with your name and email address as the sender.

Open Address Book

With the address book, you can store and edit email addresses, set up mailing lists and groups, and import or export contacts to or from other email programs. Click Open Address Book to open the EarthLink MailBox address book.

Add New Contact

To add a new contact to the EarthLink MailBox address book:

1. Click Add New Contact and a blank contact screen will be displayed.
2. Enter appropriate contact information on the following tabs: General, Phone/IM, Personal, Business, and Notes.
3. Click OK.

Open Web Mail

You can check your EarthLink email from any computer connected to the Internet. Click Open Web Mail to open and sign into Web Mail.

More Email Space

EarthLink mailboxes each come with a 10MB storage limit. Click More Email Space to learn how to obtain more storage space.

Virus Blocker

Virus Blocker, which is automatically turned on, scans all incoming email messages for viruses, and removes them before they reach your inbox.

To turn Virus Blocker off or on again:

1. Click Virus Blocker and the My Account page will open.
2. Sign in with your EarthLink email address and password.
3. Select the desired email address (profile).
4. On the Profiles page, click Edit next to Virus Blocker.
5. Click the Turn Off/On Virus Blocker button. If you are turning Virus Blocker back on, a confirmation message will appear. Click OK to close the message.

Instant Messaging

Instant messaging (IM) is a popular method of communicating online. It lets you trade real-time text messages with your family, friends, and business associates. Click Instant Messaging to learn more and download an EarthLink compatible messaging program.

Email Options

You can easily change certain email settings in TotalAccess. Click Email Options, and the Options window will be displayed with the Email category selected.

Once you make any changes, click Apply to immediately apply the new settings or OK to apply the new settings and close the Options window. Click Cancel to close the window without applying any changes.

Choose Your Default Email Program
To change your default email program:

1. Select the desired program from the drop-down list.
2. If you select EarthLink TotalAccess MailBox, you can click the TotalAccess MailBox Settings button to open the MailBox Settings window.
3. If you select Other Program, click the Browse button to select the desired program.

To restore your EarthLink email settings in your selected mail program:

1. Click the Restore Email Settings button.
2. A message will pop-up confirming the settings have been restored. Click OK to close the message.

Options
In the Options section, place a check next to each desired option:

Launch my default email program after signing in - Your email program will automatically open after signing into TotalAccess.

Show an alert when I have new email - A message will pop-up indicating a new message has arrived in your inbox. This option is available if EarthLink TotalAccess Mail Box is selected as the default email program.

Log in to my default mail identity automatically when I sign in to TotalAccess - If your email identity is password-protected, your email program will automatically enter your password. This option is available if EarthLink TotalAccess Mail Box is selected as the default email program.
