More Email Space (MES)

EarthLink More Email Space is a premium email service that allows EarthLink customers to expand their mailbox capacity with additional storage (in addition to the default storage as dictated by their billplan).  Extra storage can be used to store more email and email attachments on the EarthLink servers.

The Default amount of storage space on the server for an EarthLink Email Address is 100 MB.  EarthLink Customers can increase their storage space to one of the following three levels.

  • 500mb/One Email Address = For $1.95, you can add 500 MB additional storage for 1 mailbox
  • 2000mb/One Email Address = For $3.95, you can add  2 GB additional storage for 1 mailbox
  • 3000mb/Multiple Email Addresses = For $4.95, you can add  3 GB additional storage for each active mailboxes under a single account.  This means if you had an internet account with 8 email addresses on it, each address would have 3 GB of storage added to them.  (Restricted to customers who have an Internet Connection product or who are purchasing software through EarthLink as part of a monthly service.  3GBs of storage is restricted to consumer products only and is not available to EarthLink Business or Web Hosting customers at this time.)

I've had More Email Space for years, but only have 100 MB, 200 MB, or 300 MB of extra space. How do I upgrade to the higher levels of More Email Storage?

Legacy More Email Space customers received different levels of email storage.

  • 100mb = $1.95 for 100 MB additional storage for 1 mailbox
  • 200mb = $3.95 for 200 MB additional storage for 1 mailbox
  • 300mb = $4.95 for 300 MB additional storage for 1 mailbox

Does More Email Space change the maximum size of attachments I can send via email?

No.  More Email Space only increases the maximum amount of email that can be stored on the server.  Attachments are still limited in size to 10MB.

I upgraded using EarthLink's previous More Email Space plan and only have +100, +200 or +300 more MB of storage. How do I take advantage of the new +500 MB, +2 GB or +3 GB plans?

Older More Email Space plans will not automatically change to the new plans.  If you want to upgrade to the new offers, you'll simply need to go through the same steps in MyAccount that are required to add the new plans.  This is very similar to what you did when you added the legacy More Email Space plans you are using now.  Click Here for a walk-through of the process.  Upgrading to the new plans will replace your current More Email Space plan.
