Configuring for Home Networking using the Innoband Modem |
NOTE: The Innoband modem can serve as both PPPoE and Bridge, but EarthLink recommends and only supports this modem in PPPoE mode (i.e. email address and password) within the modem, not in the router.
-
- After setting up and confirming that the modem is able to connect to the Internet, as described in the Installation Guide using your EarthLink email address and password within the Wizard Setup, configure your router for DHCP. If you need assistance with setting up your router for DHCP, contact your manufacturer or use our EarthLink Home Networking service.
- Once your router is set to DHCP, use an Ethernet cord to connect the modem to the Internet port on your router. Your computer should then be connected to the router via Ethernet cord to one of the available ports - usually numbered 1-4. Confirm that you are able to connect to the Internet.
- While it is possible to allow your router to authenticate instead of the modem, EarthLink only supports this type of configuration using this modem. Please be aware that if you are unable to connect and need assistance with your Home Network using this modem, our agents will follow this process to confirm connectivity.
