Summary

What is Call Shield?

Call Shield blocks calls from people who purposely hide their Caller ID information.

If you subscribe to Call Shield, then when those callers dial your number, they'll hear a recorded message telling them that the call has been blocked and why. People who permanently hide their Caller ID information can still call you, but they may have to dial a special code (like *82) before dialing your number.

Unidentified calls will also receive a "tri-tone" that will indicate to telemarketing computers that the number has been disconnected and should be removed from their calling database.

Once you've subscribed to Call Shield, it's automatically on, unless you turn it off.

This feature is available by subscription only. Follow the instructions below to subscribe and use Call Shield.

Subscribing To Call Shield

Log in to myVoice.

In the left column, click Call Shield.

Click Buy Now.

A menu will pop-up telling you more about the service and the cost. Select Add to Account.

Using Call Shield

Log in to myVoice.

In the left hand column, click Features & Preferences. The page that appears will allow access to various Voice settings. Click the Edit link next to Call Shield.

Select Turn on Call Shield and then Save.

Calls without Caller ID will now be blocked from calling you.
