- Insert one end into the modem’s Ethernet port, and the other end into your computer’s Ethernet port. (If there is already a router plugged into your computer’s Ethernet port.)
- If you don’t have an Ethernet port on your computer, you’ll need to purchase and install an Ethernet adapter (also called a Network Interface Card or NIC) from an electronics or computer store.
- Dual-Jack DSL Filter (White):
- NOTE: If you already have DSL filters installed from a previous service connection, unplug them.
- Insert the dual-jack DSL filter, included in the Welcome Kit, into the phone jack nearest your computer.
- If you wish to use a two-line phone, you must use a dual-line DSL filter, which can be purchased from an electronics or computer store.
- DSL Phone Cord (Black):
- Find the black DSL phone cord provided with your DSL modem.
- Insert one end into the gray side of the dual-jack DSL filter (labeled DSL/HPN), and the other end into the modem port labeled DSL LINE.
