Your EarthLink Dial-Up connection is configured in the Dial-Up Network Panel in Mac OS X 10.5. This article shows you how to view that panel, and gives some tips about what to change if you're having trouble.

Click the Apple Menu and choose System Preferences.

From the Internet and Network section, click Network.

Click the Advanced button. To see the Advanced options.

Click the Modem button at the top to see the modem settings.

Note: If you have difficulty connecting, click the drop down menu next to Model and select a lower rate.

Click DNS to see the DNS settings. These settings are loaded automatically and usually don't need any adjustments.

Note: If you have trouble viewing Web pages, add the EarthLink search domain and DNS servers: Click the plus sign under the Search Domains box and add earthlink.net

Then click the plus sign under the DNS Servers box, and add the following two sets of numbers, including the periods: 207.69.188.185 and 207.69.188.186

The third tab shows WINS Settings. This screen should look just as it does in the image below. We don't recommend that you adjust these settings.

The forth tab shows Proxies Settings. This screen should look just as it does in the image below. We don't recommend that you adjust these settings.

The fifth tab shows PPP Settings. This screen should look just as it does in the image below. We don't recommend that you adjust these settings.
