You will need the server settings for your e-mail address. Go to EarthLink Server Settings/ to get these settings.

Open Eudora 5.

From the Special menu, choose Settings.

Click the Getting Started icon in the left column. To the right of this, you will enter the following information:

    • In the Username field, type your full EarthLink email address (e.g., johndoe@earthlink.net).
    • In the Mail Server field, type your Incoming mail server (POP).

      Important: Refer to step 1 to find out the email server settings for your email address.

    • In the Real Name field, type your name.
    • In the SMTP Server field, type smtpauth.earthlink.net.
    • In the Return Address field, type your full EarthLink email address (e.g., johndoe@earthlink.net).

Click the Checking Mail icon in the left column. To the right of this, verify the following options:

    • Click the POP radio button in the Mail Protocol area.
    • Make sure Authentication is set to Passwords and click Save Password if want Eudora to remember your password.

Click the Sending Mail icon.

Check the box next to Allow authorization.

Click the OK button.

Quit Eudora.

Look in the Eudora Application folder.

Control-click on the Eudora Icon and choose Show package Contents .

Navigate to the Mac OS folder and locate the Extra Plugins folder.

Locate the Esoteric Settings 5.1 file.

Move it to the Eudora Stuff folder.

Go to the Special menu.

Select Settings.

Scroll to the bottom on the left hand side, and select Ports and Protocols.

Change the SMTPPort to 587

Click OK.

Restart Eudora
