Summary

The following steps will help you clear your temporary Internet files, also called cache, in Internet Explorer and Firefox browsers.  This can be helpful when you are having problems pulling up websites.

Clearing temporary internet files in Google Chrome

Click the Google Chrome Options button

Click the History option.

Click the Clear Browsing Data button.

In the window that opens, you will have several options to check or uncheck.  

Delete cookies and other site and plug-in data and Empty the cache must be checked.  

We recommend you check everything, but this will remove any saved passwords you have as well.  If you like, you can just select the above two options first and then try to browse to the site you were trying to reach.  

If you can still not get to the site, return to this page and select all options.

Click the Clear browsing data option to continue.

Clearing temporary internet files in Internet Explorer

Click on Tools on the Internet Explorer toolbar.

Click on Internet Options

Click the Delete button under Browsing History on the General Tab

Make sure Temporary Internet Files is checked.  It is recommended that you select Cookies as well, however this will clear any stored website logins you have remembered in Internet Explorer.  You will need to re-enter you logins on those sites the next time you visit them.

Click the Delete button at the bottom of the window to clear you Temporary Internet Files

Clearing Temporary Internet Files in Firefox

Click on Tools in the Firefox menu bar

Click the Clear Recent History option

Make sure Browsing & Download History is selected.   It is recommended that you select Cookies as well, however this will clear any stored website logins you have remembered in Firefox.  You will need to re-enter you logins on those sites the next time you visit them.

Click the Clear Now button to clear your temporary files.
